About Us
Running is our passion, and we love sharing Memphis’ rich history with visitors to our hometown. So we decided to mesh the two for a truly unique and active way to see the city. Whether it’s your first time visiting or a regular stop in your travels, you’ll find that a guided running tour can not only keep you active during your trip, but allow you the chance to see things from a different perspective.
About Your Guides
John Lintner, owner and guide
John has been running since before he can remember just for the fun and enjoyment of it. He has since run the St. Jude Memphis Marathon two times and finished the Mardi Gras Marathon in New Orleans, La.
John is an AFAA certified personal trainer, which has its perks for tour participants as he can offer helpful tips for making your runs even better. An Elvis fan to the bone, nothing makes him happier than to share a run with visitors while offering a little Memphis history as well as insider tips about the best places to see and things to do while you're in town.

Mel Baddorf, guide
Running has been a big part of Mel's life for almost 20 years, but for most of that time he was a spectator. His two younger sons ran on state championship high school cross country teams, competed in multiple high school state track meets and both attended college on running scholarships - and he was there to support them every step of the way. It wasn't until he opened a fitness club in Germantown, lost 70 pounds and got in shape that he started running himself. The fitness club is gone now, but Mel has continued his love for running and regularly competes in area 5K races.
Mel was the founder and director of the Hope Elite Running Camp and has served as co-director of the Hope 5K Race for the past six years. Combining his love for running with his love for his adopted home of Memphis, Mel enjoys his role of guide for Rockin' Running Tours.
